Old Man Bates

A widened old man. Nobody, including old man himself is sure how old he is but from looks you would say anywhere between 65 and 80. What he doesn't know about fixing and building boats ir not worth knowing. Back in the day he had a fearsome reputation and was not someone to cross. Nowdays he calls the shots and has his dog and 2 sons for protection and they will deal with any issues old man may have. When his sons were born he didn't put a lot of thought into naming them hence they are both called Dave. Luckily for the Old man one grew up substantially taller then the other so they are called Big Dave and Little Dave

Old man bates has a huge 'Tector (a fanged beast of a dog) that haunts the harbour area and protects the yard. He is fine with staff and those he has been introduced to. Otherwise if you are with old man Bates but if your not God help you. A very hungry youth once tried to get in the yard to kill and eat the dog and promptly had his throat ripped out. His remains were lost in The Tip.  The Old man has a series of commands that he uses to introduce you to the beast Heskey that tell him your level of trust.

Big Dave Bates

Standing at 6 foot 5 people think big dave is is the son to be avoided but it's the opposite. He may look intimidating but he is the more placid of the 2 brothers. He relies on his size to stop trouble although he can and will get involved when needed. Big Dave just wants the quiet life fixing boats, earning some coin.

Little Dave Bates

At 5 foot 6 he is the polar opposite to his brother. Quick tempered and happy to fight someone if he is not getting his own way. He thinks he is entitled to the boat yard when the old man is gone, although his brother has other ideas about that. Rarely is he found without a large spanner on his person that doubles up as a cosh when needed.
